India and Dudu: a family story

Creativity is a journey, both inside and outside of us. Following the path laid out by founder Biagio Addario, who made chromatic interpretation the cornerstone of his aesthetic research, Dudu arrives in Calcutta.

In India, the Addario family meets the Ahmed family, with whom they have collaborated for over twenty years, sharing business and life values. From the desire to grow together, a close-knit team was born, capable of working in respect of both cultures. The dialogue between the two young entrepreneurs, both heirs to creative and visionary fathers and now at the helm of their respective companies, transforms into a solid collaboration.

Developing local resources and leather, supporting craftsmanship and the centrality of color and design, are shared values: from a local business, the company becomes an international community. The Dudu line, designed and produced between Italy and India, is the result of encounters between people, colors, and materials that become everyday objects in our global life.

The skin is our connection to mother nature, and our use of it is a matter of respect.

Noble material par excellence, used by man since ancient times, leather is the first virtuous material, interpreter of a circular economy system through which it is declined, adapted, and transformed, never wasted. Its processing is also tradition, especially in those countries where the development of industrial craftsmanship has allowed for a supply chain based on a sustainable economy.

Craftsmanship wisdom becomes a shared tradition that projects the future from the past. The leather, soft and pleasant to the touch, gives each of our products value and longevity. Leather becomes the heart of a cross-cutting project that interprets the needs of our world, bringing our creations to life.

The certifications

For our creations, we choose leather from both Italy and India, predominantly nappa, the flower of leather, and a more structured and consistent calfskin to create the business line. Each of our creations declares the type of leather used: Italian leathers have REACH and LWG certification, Indian leather is REACH certified and will soon receive LWG certification.

The skin is our connection to mother nature

Derived from the excesses of the food supply chain, leather is the first virtuous material, interpreter of a circular economy system through which, with the use of technology, it is declined, adapted, and transformed, never wasted.
